August 2007

8/29/07 - I put up some clearer pictures for the Poodle Christmas cards and some new calligraphy examples of envelopes.

8/19/07 - The first new Christmas card is up now, Night Before Poodle Christmas.

8/17/07 - A new Thanksgiving card, titled A Poodle Thanksgiving Turkey, is up in the Christmas section. Within a week or so, I'll have the 2 new Christmas cards I've been working on. All cards are based on Norman Rockwell paintings found here.

8/3/07 - I've been working on creating marble magnets with my poodle images the last few days. Printing the image and finding the marbles were the easiest parts of the process and finding strong enough magnets and glue that didn't dissolve the Phaser printer's ink were another matter. I finally found strong enough magnets (able to hold up 5 letter-sized textweight papers!) at a hardware store nearby.

The next solution to find was what type of glue to use? Most people recommend a silicone glue. I had 5 various types of glue so I tried those first. Unfortunately, the first 3 glues (Amazing Goop, Bond 527, and Surebonder Clear 9001) all haave some sort of solvents in them that dissolved the Phaser's crayon-like ink. The other 2 I tried were a couple fabric glues I had (Fabri-tac and Sobo fabric glue). They worked out surprisingly well in the way of strength but they were more bubbly than I had hoped for. So I went out to the store to get 3 more glues making sure that none of them had solvents. The line up was as follows: Crafter's Pick The Ultimate, Aleene's Clear Gel Tacky Glue, and Decorator's Solutions Dimensional Silcone. All those types of glue worked well in terms of stickiness, but had varying looks. All were clear but Silicone was very flexible even after drying. I think that The Ultimate and Aleene's were the best for strength, clarity, and easiest to use was definitely Aleene's.

All that to say, that I've throughly tested all components of my new marble magnets and they all use the best materials for each magnet. Please visit the marble magent page for the new poodle themed marble magnets!

May 2007

5/4/07 - I've gone over the whole site looking for missing links and images that were never put up, so now everything should be there now.

I've also opened up a storefront on Etsy where you can pay with PayPal if you wish. I'll be adding things to both places though this will still be the site with the most options. All prices will be the same at both.

1/24/07 - All the paper choices are up now for most cards. There are a couple of valentine's to choose and each displaying the paper color choices.

I've also finished all the calligraphy on my invitations and will put them together this weekend, with pictures of the finished project for the wedding and calligraphy pages. I took down the Google Checkout for now, just because it was so complicated.

1/7/07 - The first valentine is up and available. My goal is to have a couple more designs up, with the color versions by the end of this coming weekend.

1/6/07 - I'm working on putting in Google Checkout for credit card payments. I realized that it was a much bigger project than I first thought when I tried to add theshipping and handling. I hope this doesn't cause too much inconvenience.
